About Me

Circus Fergus is the culmination of performance experience and juggling practice since 2005, by Brian O’Connell. His first show was at the St Patrick’s Day Festival in Limerick in 2006, and since then he’s been hooked on getting crowds into a frenzy of fun.

Brian has added to his show over the years, attending many performance courses, countless juggling conventions at home and abroad, and one year of circus training in Belfast Circus School. After experiencing the power that juggling had to improve his life in many ways, Brian became dedicated to sharing this passion any way he could.

To date he has taught hundreds of people the joy of how to juggle, performed to tens of thousands over hundreds of shows, and organised several juggling conventions, including Dublin, Belfast, and the largest one in the world: The European Juggling Convention 2014, which was held in Millstreet, Co. Cork.

He has also been named as “one of the best jugglers currently doing kickups”, by the prolific juggling historian David Cain. A ‘kickup’ is when a juggler catches a torch/club with a foot, and throws it back up again. What, you haven’t seen it? Check out this video!

Aside from juggling, Brian has a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, and a passion for sewing, obscure board games, and sustainable living.
